October is breast cancer awareness month. A chance to raise awareness and education around breast cancer symptoms and treatments. Eliza Eliza was started by Elizabeth and she makes the most amazing hemp clutches and purses. Hemp is one of the more sustainable crops, with hemp plants reaching maturity in three months. It has a look and feel similar to linen and has been used for thousands of years as a fibre to make textiles from.
On October 1st Eliza Eliza launched a new collection supporting CoppaFeel. They are the first charity to base their breast cancer education and awareness campaigning at solely young people. It was founded in 2009 by Kristina Hallenga. Kristina was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer at the age of 23 after initially having successful treatment for primary breast cancer. She recognised a need for useful information that was written in a way for young people to identify with.
Do you know how to check your boobs and what you should look for? CoppaFeel! have a guide to let you know. There is more to it than checking for lumps!
The lining of each clutch and purse is a breast themed pattern by Hazel Nicholls. It’s amazing even down to the mastectomy detailing. Every clutch sold donates £7 and every purse £5 to the CoppaFeel! campaign. Collections that support The Eve Appeal and Unseen are also available. I have an Eve Appeal purse and it’s goes with me everywhere.
